Tip Notice that many tech words are borrowed from English and often keep their English plural (die Laptops, die Tablets). Native German tech words follow normal plural patterns — der Bildschirm → die Bildschirme (add -e).

Real world: everyday digital life
German teenagers use technology all day long: „Ich lade die App herunter." (I am downloading the app.) „Wie ist das WLAN-Passwort?" (What is the Wi-Fi password?) „Hast du meine E-Mail bekommen?" (Did you get my email?) The verb herunterladen is separable — the prefix herunter- moves to the end of the sentence.
