Real world: talking about your mood and wellbeing

Expressing feelings is essential for wellbeing conversations: „Wie geht es dir heute?" — „Nicht so gut. Ich bin müde und ein bisschen besorgt." (Not so good. I'm tired and a little worried.) „Warum bist du so aufgeregt?" — „Ich habe morgen eine Prüfung!" (Why are you so excited? — I have an exam tomorrow!) German therapy and counselling settings (Beratungsstelle) rely heavily on emotion vocabulary.

Real world: diary entries and social media

Emotion vocabulary is used in diaries, personal essays, and social media: „Heute bin ich total glücklich — wir haben das Spiel gewonnen!" (Today I'm totally happy — we won the game!) „Ich fühle mich einsam, wenn meine Freunde nicht da sind." (I feel lonely when my friends aren't around.) „Endlich entspannt — die Ferien beginnen!"
