What is carbon monoxide (CO) and why is it dangerous?
CO is a colourless, odourless gas produced by incomplete combustion. It is dangerous because it binds to haemoglobin in the blood more strongly than oxygen, preventing oxygen transport and causing suffocation at high concentrations.
